I have grown to deeply love this university through serving in a variety of positions including the Faculty Executive Committee (2014-2017), Committee on Special Talent (2018 - 2021), Parking Appeals Committee (2019 - present), University Teaching Awards Committee (2017 - present), and Creativity, Ethics, and Judgment Task Force for Curriculum 2019 (2017).

Candidate Statement

At a very young age, I experienced the heavy weight and transformative joy that leaders of sport can facilitate, and have devoted my professional life to exploring the intersection of sport and education. Over the last twenty years, I have spoken with, mentored, championed, or counseled a current or former collegiate athlete every day. Over the past decade, I have become a recognized scholar leading national and international discussions on the role of athletics within the academy. I have previously served on and have consulted with Faculty Athletics Committees, and would like to assist our university in facilitating data-driven decision making, leveraging relationships to consolidate inter-department efforts and information sharing, and enhancing athlete and athletics staff health and well-being.
