Candidate Statement

The greatest strength of any university is the excellence of its faculty. There is no higher obligation than evaluating our colleagues for tenure and promotion and doing so fairly, equitably, and with consistency in order to ensure the highest level of faculty both now and in the future. Having Chaired two different units--the Curriculum in International and Area Studies (now Global Studies) and the Department of Dramatic Art (including PlayMakers Repertory Company)--over two different divisions, and currently serving as Director of the Chairs Leadership Program at the Institute for the Arts and Humanities, I believe that I have the knowledge required to review personnel decisions from units across the College. It is a responsibility that I would not take lightly and would be honored to be entrusted with doing.
