I have served for five years as the chair of the Curriculum in Global Studies and also as part of many associated committees and interdisciplinary projects across the College. I have also served on the Study Abroad Committee and the Committee on the Status of Women. I have a long record of outstanding teaching and support for undergraduate and graduate research at Carolina.

Candidate Statement

Our university is a place where faculty and students excel at teaching, learning, mentorship and research. We form a community that needs engagement and care from its members. Shared governance is a very important part of safeguarding our institution. My experience as the chair of the Curriculum in Global Studies has given me valuable experience in working with many different departments and other units across our campus to move forward many different projects. I have an understanding of what are the strengths of our university -- and how things could be improved for our students, staff and faculty. I am equally invested in my teaching and my research, and have been honored this year with a Chapman Family Teaching Award.
