Candidate Statement

I am running to represent the University Libraries on the Faculty Council to be able to participate and demonstrate the value the Libraries bring to campus. As a science librarian I work with both faculty and students across the sciences to advocate, promote and instruct them on information and data literacies. As data science becomes an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum, I believe the Libraries are a valuable partner in this effort. I am an established and enthusiastic science librarian, instructor, author, library associations participant, and a researcher in the field of retention of women in the STEM fields.
