Since joining the faculty in Religious Studies in 2013, I have served on numerous departmental and ad hoc advisory committees across the university. Currently, I am my department’s interim Director of Graduate Studies and serve on the Faculty Advisory Board of the IAH.

I am running for a second term on the Faculty Hearings Committee (FHC) where I have served since 2021. I have served as the co-chair of this committee since July 2023.

Candidate Statement

Since being appointed to the FHC I’ve worked tirelessly to ensure just and impartial outcomes for faculty who request hearings. As an anthropologist and scholar of religion I strive to be open-minded and objective. I welcome the challenge of working to resolve issues that are complex and require attention to detail, sensitivity, and novel problem solving. I will continue to work diligently to ensure that every personnel issue is handled fairly and that the policies and procedures that have been put in place to guide the committee are respected and applied equitably.

I believe that my perspective and professional experience have been an asset to the committee in discharging its duties for the past three years and I look forward to continuing the challenging work that being a member of the FHC presents.
