Candidate Statement

As a member of the Faculty Grievance Committee and the Administrative Board of the Library, and as current chair of the Faculty Welfare Committee, I have been able to work with colleagues from across campus to address complex issues affecting the work and experience of faculty. Faculty governance—which allows us to build community across disciplines, schools, and ranks, and between faculty and the administration—is of critical importance as we seek to sustain standards of intellectual independence and academic excellence in the face of limited resources, institutional challenges, and a pandemic. The Faculty Grievance Committee helps ensure that all faculty are treated with respect and that disputes are handled with transparency and integrity. I would be honored to continue doing this important work with, and on behalf of, my colleagues.
