UNC Service
I have served UNC in various roles both within the department and beyond. I am the Language Program Coordinator in German and supervise the graduate teaching assistants. I serve as the departmental summer school liaison and have contributed to multiple committees, including the Diversity Committee. I am committed to further our community outreach through serving as the Honor Society advisor and have organized German Day, a large language contest that invites over 450 high school students to UNC's campus. I have also facilitated workshops and events aimed at enhancing language learning experiences and community-building.
Candidate Statement
I am running for the faculty council position to further contribute to UNC Chapel Hill's academic community and to especially amplify the voices of non-tenured faculty and students in the Humanities. With extensive experience in language program coordination, teaching, and research, I aim to promote inclusive learning environments and support faculty development. My background in German and Second Language Acquisition equips me to effectively collaborate on further initiatives such as curriculum development and diversity. Through active engagement with faculty and students, I seek to advocate for initiatives that enhance academic experiences and promote a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our community.
