UNC Service

I have served on multiple department and division level committees in my 22-year tenure on the faculty at UNC, including Department of Health Sciences Appointments and Promotions Committee, Clinical Affairs Committee, and several smaller short term ad hoc committees. I have served as Clinic Director and Clinical Coordinator for the UNC Hearing and Communication Center since 2001. I divide my time between classroom teaching doctoral students in audiology, seeing patients in the clinic while serving as a preceptor to doctoral students and overseeing the clinic operations and management.

Candidate Statement

I earned my master’s degree at UNC in 1997 and joined the faculty in 2001 in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, Department of Health Science. For over 20+ years I have been committed to the teaching, research and service missions of UNC. We are in challenging times post-pandemic as we work to find and retain the best and brightest to be part of the faculty at UNC. I have held several leadership roles at the state and national level for our audiology professional associations throughout my professional career. I believe those connections with colleagues across the state and country will enable me to provide a broad perspective on the Faculty Council. I am eager to learn from others and would be honored to serve the greater University and to represent non-tenured faculty in the School of Medicine on Faculty Council.
