Candidate Statement
I have been a Tarheel since my time as an undergraduate (Class of 2007). I have always been deeply committed to public service and graduated as a UNC Public service scholar. While my graduate students took me away from UNC for ~10 years, I returned to Chapel Hill in 2016 as a Hematology/Oncology Fellow. I was humbled to join our great UNC faculty in 2019. I am fierce advocate for my colleagues and patients. I lead the Head and Neck Cancer clinical trial group at UNC. Part of my responsibility is to ensure that all members of our research team are satisfied and supported. It is essential that all faculty members, particularly junior faculty, feel they have a voice and have advocates. This is particularly true for faculty members with grievances and providing timely recommendations and resolution.
