Candidate Statement

Appointments, promotions and tenure are fundamental activities to the university, ensuring our institution has the depth of knowledge and diversity of perspectives that allow it to thrive. Having served as a department chair for 8 years provides me with an intimate knowledge of the processes involved in bringing new faculty to our institution and in evaluating their performance for consideration for promotion and tenure. My chosen field is quite interdisciplinary and has highlighted for me the need for our institution's faculty to include a broad range of talents and perspectives to keep it vital. I believe my experience and perspectives as a faculty member and department chair will allow me to fairly and equitably assess APT actions on behalf of the faculty as a whole.
