Candidate Statement

I am committed to faculty shared governance and I believe it is important for the faculty to participate actively in collaborating with the administration to lead the university. My specific focus, as a Professor in the School of Education and an education researcher, is on the pedagogy of the curriculum throughout the university. I will contribute a School of Education perspective on teaching practice and curriculum design. My perspective is grounded in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) and in the learning sciences. I am the editor of the field's handbook, _The Cambridge Handbook of the Learning Sciences_. I have participated in administrative roles in the College, and have been particularly involved in general education and in the IDEAs in Action curriculum.
