Candidate Statement

I am committed to creating a high-quality educational experience for our students. Serving on the EPC from 2021 to 2024, I feel that I am a part of the broader university committee. It's a welcome opportunity to think about the big picture and go beyond my own academic unit. I believe that a strength of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is its breadth of expertise in the sciences and the humanities. I believe in the value of the general education curriculum as an important part of the complete undergraduate experience. In my years on various university committees, I have been impressed with the diverse syllabi I've read and with the design of department majors and minors.
