I have been at UNC since Fall 2019. I have served on various committees at the School level including serving on the Dean's Advisory Board, the Teaching Awards Committee, among others. At the University level, I have served one term on the Faculty Grievance Committee and have enjoyed my time on the committee thus far.
Candidate Statement
As the fixed-term faculty representative for the Faculty Grievance Committee (FGC), my first full term is currently coming to an end. I have enjoyed my time on this committee and have learned quite a bit about the procedures involved in a Grievance hearing. I hope to continue serving on this committee for a second term. This would allow me to put into practice the knowledge learned during my initial term. If elected, I will aim to fully uphold the standards required for a successful and fair Grievance hearing. Additionally, as a prior faculty member at another UNC affiliated institution prior to joining the Carolina faculty, I served on the Student Conduct Board of that institution. This experience provided me with an initial understanding of the process undergone during formal hearings.
