From 2018 to 2021, I served on the ROMS Programs Assessment Committee. Since 2019, I've been on the Sponsored Events and Graduate Placement and Professional Development Committees, aiding graduate students in their academic job market readiness. Additionally, in 2022 and 2023, I was a Carolina Union Board of Directors Faculty Appointee, engaging in impactful discussions with students, staff, and faculty to enhance the university's intellectual and experiential climate. I also joined the Salary Committee and became coeditor of “Romance Notes”, enriching my experience with tasks such as article processing and collaboration with authors.

Candidate Statement

In my capacity as an educator at UNC-Chapel Hill, I've developed courses such as "Contemporary Portuguese Culture and Contexts," recognized with a Curriculum Development Award. My teaching philosophy prioritizes tailored instruction and individualized support, ensuring all students feel empowered to engage in meaningful discourse. Recognized with the 2022 UNC Student Undergraduate Teaching Award, I am dedicated to student success both inside and outside the classroom. Beyond teaching, my active involvement in various committees, including the Programs Assessment and Sponsored Events, reflects my commitment to enhancing the academic experience. I am honored to be considered for the Administrative Board of the Library and look forward to contributing to its mission of promoting knowledge and academic growth within the university community.
