UNC Service

Currently, I’m a member of the UNC Committee on Generative AI, the clinical faculty representative to the Faculty Executive Council (FEC) in the School of Education (SOE), and chair the Teaching Excellence Award committee in the SOE FEC. I’m also the faculty advisor for the UNC student group Glow Through Sports at UNC and have served as the faculty advisor for the student group Happy Kids, Healthy Kids. I have also served as a board member for the Carolina Union.

Candidate Statement

I am running for a position on the Faculty Grievance Committee to foster an equitable and understanding environment within our academic community. To this position, I bring 8 years of teaching experience in human development and family science (5 at UNC) and couple and family therapy programs, and 7 years of clinical experience as a couple and family therapist. My background equips me with a unique perspective on interpersonal dynamics and conflict resolution, and I have honed my ability to listen deeply, mediate effectively, and advocate for fairness and transparency in challenging situations. My experience working closely with individuals and families through serious challenges has instilled in me a profound commitment to empathy, confidentiality, and just outcomes for all.
