Candidate Statement

We find ourselves at a pivotal time in the University's history. The value of university education is coming under fire and access to an education by those who are less advantaged, is being tested. As a strong proponent of liberal arts education, academic freedom, and the free expression of ideas, I bring a committed perspective to important university issues. The Advisory Committee is advisory to the chancellor on matters that, well, matter. As both an educator and clinician, with over 20 years of service to the University, with appointments in the Schools of Nursing and Medicine and in the Department of Psychiatry, I see our challenges from multiple perspectives. I'd like to continue to bring a seasoned, reasoned, calm and strong voice to the proceedings of the Advisory Committee.
