UNC Service

I serve the people of North Carolina as an Associate Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. In addition to being an active clinician, I serve in several formal teaching and advising roles at UNC. I am a teaching professor and preceptor to residents and medical students of all years of training. I also teach first and second-year medical students how to take a history, perform a physical exam, and develop their clinical reasoning skills. I serve on the UNC SOM Admissions Committee and as an advisor in the Advisory College.

Candidate Statement

I am both excited and humbled to be running as non-tenure track faculty in the SOM. I consider it an honor and privilege to serve the people of North Carolina who trust UNC with their healthcare; having the opportunity to represent the fantastic UNC faculty would truly be icing the cake. I have been a member of the UNC community for over 10 years, first as a student, then as a clinician, educator, and administrator. Through these experiences, I have developed a solid understanding of the culture of UNC and cultivated many cross-departmental and interdisciplinary collaborative relationships. As a member of the Faculty Council, my priority will be to listen to our faculty and use their feedback to find practical ways of improving well-being, job satisfaction, and equitability.
