Candidate Statement

As Chair of City and Regional Planning and Director of the Center for Community Capital, I had to balance academic/research needs with the need to maintain budgetary soundness. Such balance included the impacts of budgetary decisions on the lives of faculty, staff, and students. Currently, I teach courses on finance (personal and affordable housing) where I teach students the skills and art of financial management in the achievement of non-financial goals. My past and current experiences should serve me well if and when the financial exigency committee is asked to consider programs changes due to budgetary considerations.
