Candidate Statement

The University is under attack. We must coordinate our efforts to preserve the core institutions that have served North Carolinians so well. I am a lifelong member of the Retired Faculty Association (RFA). As a representative of the RFA, I will keep the association informed of actions taken by the University administration and faculty. Just as importantly, I will inform active faculty and the administration of positions of the RFA and retired faculty on matters facing the University Community. The RFA, since it is not a part of the University, is in a good position to support the mission of the university without jeopardizing those currently employed. I will work with RFA leaders to develop a vigorous campaign to remove partisan politics from the selection of university leaders and the micromanagement of the university.
