I have served my department of Biology and the University as member of numerous committees, as Biology’s Associate Chair for Academic Affairs, and most recently, as a member and current Chair of the Appointments, Promotion and Tenure Committee. Additionally, I have served as an editorial board member for journals in my field and as Editor-in-Chief for Oxford Bibliographies in Evolutionary Biology; a member of the Society for the Study of Evolution’s governing council; and as an ad hoc reviewer and grant review panelist for the National Science Foundation. Finally, I serve our community though outreach and public education.

Candidate Statement

I am happy to seek re-election to the Appointments, Promotion and Tenure committee. I would continue to contribute to the committee’s efforts to promote policies that support faculty especially in light of the on-going effects of the covid pandemic. I deeply value my interactions with colleagues from across campus as well as the diversity and importance of our faculty’s scholarship. I would continue to bring that appreciation to the APT committee for the College of Arts and Sciences.
