Candidate Statement

I have been a member of faculty at UNC for 15 years. As a Professor of Epidemiology engaged in global health research, I have lead numerous large NIH funded studies and have worked closely with colleagues from all over the globe through international research networks. As a member of the faculty council I hope to represent the voices of the faculty, students and staff in the SPH. UNC is a world class research University and it is important that we maintain that reputation through appropriate support provided to faculty, staff and students. I am committed to advocating for and supporting policies that increase the diversity of our student body, staff and faculty. I am also actively involved in the supporting prevention of sexual assault and misconduct on campus to improve safety of students, staff and faculty.
