I received a Master of Science in Operative Dentistry at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2009, and joined as a full-time clinical track faculty member in 2016. Currently, I am an Associate Professor in the Division of Comprehensive Oral Health at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. Since 2019, I have been the Graduate Program Director of Operative Dentistry & Biomaterials. I have been involved in the clinical education of dental students and residents of all levels. I have also had the opportunity to serve in a variety of School-level committees, gaining institutional knowledge and understanding about the important role of nontenured clinical faculty.

Candidate Statement

It would be an honor to serve as a member of the Faculty Council. My desire would be to share the views of someone who has experienced challenges and rewards of the clinical track, and represent the perspectives of my fellow colleagues and students. I would advocate for initiatives that support nontenured faculty development and opportunities to grow in their respective roles and positions. I have the greatest appreciation and respect for the value of shared governance at UNC-Chapel Hill, and I intend to support faculty involvement and keep the strong voice of nontenured faculty in academic matters.
