UNC Service

I have had the privilege of serving on Faculty Council, the Fixed-Term Faculty Committee, and the Scholarships, Awards, and Student Aid Committee, fostering collaboration and learning from colleagues campus-wide. As faculty advisor for a student organization, I focus on networking and career readiness. My experience as admissions chair and program director for undergraduate and graduate programs has deepened my understanding of the diverse challenges Carolina students encounter. I'm eager to continue my service through another term on Faculty Council.

Candidate Statement

As a graduate of Carolina and a faculty member for more than 20 years, I have a vested interest in the teaching and research missions of the University. I am committed to the issues of attracting and retaining faculty, the relationship with the Board of Governors and our educational policies. Teaching a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students has given me a unique perspective. I bring experience in general education curriculum issues as the admissions chair and program director for an undergraduate professional program. I would work to ensure that all Carolina students can thrive within the general education curriculum. I would be honored to serve the greater University, and to represent non-tenured faculty in the School of Medicine.
