Candidate Statement

Growing up in different parts of the world (Iran, Ghana, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia), I value a diverse community.
I have been a UNC faculty since 2013. I appreciate the efforts of the University and School of Medicine to recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion.
As a Muslim American I will advocate for policies to support minority students, residents, fellows, and faculty. I hope that with my background and experience I will be able to add to the success of minorities at UNC. I am honored to be considered for this role.
