UNC Service

Since joining the faculty in 2016, I contributed to research and leadership committees within the Department of Emergency Medicine, served on a self-study subcommittee for the School of Medicine LCME 2020 site visit, and am serving on the Advisory Committee on Transportation and Parking. Engaging with fellow members of campus through these committees has been immensely rewarding, deepening my understanding of governance within our institution. My ongoing involvement in the UNC Faculty Council, now in my second term, is instrumental in broadening my perspective on university-wide issues and gain insights into pressing matters confronting UNC.

Candidate Statement

I am running for membership on the Faculty Grievance Committee with great enthusiasm. Currently serving as Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine, I am passionately committed to fostering a supportive and equitable environment for all faculty members, staff, and students. Drawing upon my expertise as an epidemiologist with affiliations across the School of Medicine, the Gillings School of Global Public Health, and the Department of Exercise and Sport Science, I bring an interdisciplinary viewpoint familiar with the diverse needs and challenges faculty face. By serving on the committee, I am poised to gain invaluable insights into the grievances encompassed by the committee's purview, to ensure every voice is heard and valued, and to actively contribute to the resolution of these grievances.
