Throughout my seventeen-year tenure at UNC, I've led roles in numerous service positions aimed at enhancing the academic experience within my department. From directing the undergraduate program to active participation in the Latinx Studies Program and leading global leadership efforts through a Study Abroad program, I've demonstrated a steadfast commitment to enriching our academic environment with diverse voices and perspectives. Additionally, my involvement in various programming committees, such as the lecture series and gallery, reflects my dedication to advancing Carolina's mission and fostering a vibrant intellectual community.

Candidate Statement

As a first-generation college graduate from a working-class background, the values of hard work and perseverance have deeply influenced my journey and professional outlook. My interest in the Faculty Hearings Committee is rooted in my dedication to fostering fairness, integrity, and diversity. I am committed to offering a balanced and empathetic voice for all, particularly for individuals whose experiences mirror my own. Additionally, I am keenly interested in representing the arts and humanities in this capacity, an area often underrepresented in faculty governance. My goal remains to ensure that our university values and celebrates a multitude of perspectives and I am fully prepared to uphold the highest standards required for this role– eager to leverage my experiences and insights to to effectively serve our academic community.
