Candidate Statement
My priorities on council would be to 1) maintain departmental and faculty authority over personnel decisions without interference from outside actors, 2) enhance the standing of UNC Chapel Hill among state-level policymakers through engaged research and practice, 3) promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring, promotion, and the intellectual climate of our great university and 4) continue and promote our institution's tradition of excellence and high standards in research and teaching.
