UNC Service

Being a faculty member since 2015 at UNC's School of Medicine, I have mentored and supervised undergraduates, research technicians, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, providing guidance and support to help them with their academic and career goals. I instructed and co-directed graduate courses during these years. I contributed to departmental activities, including serving on the promotional and retreat committees. At the pandemic's beginning, I translated our laboratory discovery to set up a serology service core to support the research community across UNC faculties.

Candidate Statement

I am honored to run for Faculty Council and represent faculties alike. As a dedicated educator and researcher, I have the skills and experience necessary to represent our diverse faculty community. I am an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and lead a research laboratory with extramural federal funding support. Over these years, I had the privilege of working with many of you and understanding our challenges in our respective fields. I have served on various committees representing student and postdoctoral communities and their interests at other institutions. If selected, I am committed to advocating for policies and initiatives promoting academic excellence, faculty development, and student success.
