UNC Service

As a faculty member, I have had the opportunity to mentor and supervise undergraduates, research technicians, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows, providing guidance and support to help these individuals achieve their academic and career goals. I have instructed and co-directed graduate courses. I oversee a serology service center supporting the research community across various UNC laboratories. As a facility director, I am responsible for ensuring the proper development of infrastructure and the effective use of shared equipment within the department. I also serve on the department's promotional and retreat committees.

Candidate Statement

I am honored to run for Faculty Council to represent our diverse faculty community. I am an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and lead a research laboratory with extramural funding. Over these years, I had the privilege of working with many of you and understanding the challenges in our respective fields. I am confident in advocating for policies and initiatives that promote academic excellence, faculty development, and student success. If selected, I will be a strong voice for our community and work to achieve our shared goals.
