Candidate Statement

I am honored to be nominated to serve another term on the Advisory Committee. The year I’ve served on the committee has been a tough one for UNC. Nevertheless, I have appreciated the chance to work with colleagues to address challenges of campus security, mental health, political divisions, and governance. I hope to continue my service on the Advisory Committee so that I can help rebuild our campus community, our shared sense of mission, and our mutual trust, particularly at a time of continuing transition in leadership.

Having been at UNC since 2007, I’ve made many connections across campus that allow me to represent the needs and desires of faculty to our new Chancellor. If re-elected, I will continue to work to make Carolina an institution that welcomes and supports all.
