I have served on Faculty Council since 2020 and the APT Committee since 2021, and chaired APT from 2022-24. As APT Chair I also sat on the Nominating and Advisory Committees. In the Law School, I was Associate Dean for Faculty Development (2012-15), chaired our Mentorship and Academic Affairs committees, and co-chaired a Self-Study. I served on our Appointments, Admissions, and Curricular Reform committees, as well as a Dean’s Review Committee. I also advise students and coordinate the JD/MPH Concurrent Degree Program. Finally, I am a Professor of Social Medicine (secondary appointment) and an Adjunct Professor in Health Policy & Management.

Candidate Statement

As Chair of the APT Committee for the past two years, I have had the opportunity to be part of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee. I am now seeking a full term as an elected member of that Committee. This is an important time for the Committee, as it seeks to work through the transition not only to an Interim Chancellor, but also through the Chancellor search process and our recently-amended timeline for electing the Chair of the Faculty. As a faculty member with many cross-campus interdisciplinary links, as well as a broad-based understanding of other units gleaned from my experiences on APT, I will advocate for more transparent procedures that help faculty members to understand and participate in campus governance regardless of their campus homes.
