UNC Service

In the UNC School of Pharmacy, I engage in service opportunities as a member of the Conflict of Interest committee (since 2018); the Appointment, Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure committee (since 2019); and on the organizing committee for the school’s Annual Research Retreat (since 2020). I interview candidates for admission to the Pharm.D. program (in cycles approximately quarterly). I work hard to contribute to a positive work environment for colleagues – students, faculty, and staff – and enjoy mentoring, brainstorming, and developing research ideas and teaching strategies. I am eager to expand my service to our university community.

Candidate Statement

I am running to represent Assistant Professors and Librarians on the Faculty Grievance Committee. I am running for two primary reasons. First, I want to understand the issues faced by Assistant Professors and Librarians that warrant grievance filings and potential hearings, so that I can participate in both reactive problem-solving for those specific conflicts, as well as (potentially) informing proactive policies to prevent such problems in the future at UNC. Second, I want to gain experience in faculty governance at UNC, to develop my understanding of how our faculty work with each other and other stakeholders in the university. Especially this year in which COVID and racism became central issues, I looked thankfully toward our faculty council and executive committee for much-needed leadership, and I want to join the effort.
