Candidate Statement

Faculty members make the quality of a university, through their commitments to research, teaching, and service. Therefore, decisions about tenure and continuing employment of faculty members are among the most important decisions made at a university, and they need to be made with utmost care and fairness. When such decisions are disputed, they come to the Faculty Hearings Committee. It is important for the members of this committee to have a clear understanding of university policies and procedures and to be able to assess whether these policies and procedures have been correctly followed and fairly applied in the case at hand. I have served the university in many roles and have acquired the necessary experience to make these assessment, and I have an unwavering commitment to the fair treatment of all members of the university community.
