Candidate Statement

The Faculty Hearings Committee performs an essential service to our academic community: it ensures that the faculty who are contesting a reappointment or tenure decision have the opportunity to be heard in a manner that is equitable and by open-minded peers. This is difficult but important work. I believe that standards of fairness, impartiality, thoughtfulness, and open-mindedness in personnel decisions are at the heart of an excellent university and workplace, and I am committed to working with colleagues on the committee to uphold them.
