Candidate Statement

I am interested in both undergraduate and graduate learning, and how university policies may affect the education mission of the University. I believe that the Educational Policy Committee should play a key role to ensure faculty’s active participation in curricular planning in the general education, to preserve intellectual diversity and equity, and to protect academic freedom. I am seeking a second term on the Committee so that I may continue to help smooth the way for our students. For the College of Arts & Sciences, I am currently on the Financial Exigency and Program Change Committee and have previously served on the Faculty Council, Administrative Board of the Library, and Administrative Boards of the Graduate School. For my department, I am also the Director of Graduate Studies.
