From 2014-2015 I was a member of the Provost's committee on Assessment of Learning at the Program Level. In 2015, I was a member of the Royster Society of Fellows Faculty Board. In 2019, I was a member of the Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee of the Data Science Initiative and in 2022 I was a member of the Doctoral Hooding Speaker Selection Committee. Finally, from 2022 to present I have served as a member of the School of Data Science and Society's Pan-Campus Advisory Council.

Candidate Statement

Faculty governance is integral to the mission and optimal functioning of a University. I have a long-held interest in faculty governance and higher education administration, starting in my master's program in College Student Personnel and afterward, when I worked in Residence Life, Judicial Affairs, and a Living/Learning Community. Since coming to UNC for my faculty position, in 2007, I have served in many administrative roles, ranging from program coordinator to area chair to associate dean for academic affairs. In those positions, I saw, firsthand, the importance of faculty governance advocacy and action. If elected, I would endeavor to bring the School of Education's faculty's expertise and perspectives to the Faculty Council and the issues confronting it.
