Candidate Statement

My somewhat circuitous career path has led me to appreciate the excellence of UNC in multiple facets. I am now an NIH-funded clinician-scientist, but my first grant was a NC Children's Promise Grant as a clinical fellow in 2010. As I navigated the early years of my career, I benefited from support from NC TraCS, the UNC Institute for HealthCare Quality Improvement, and the Caregivers at Carolina Program, among others. I completed dual training in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology in 2013 and have spent the last several years investigating novel outcome measures in CF and developing leadership skills through professional societies like the CF Foundation. I hope to use these skills to make a direct impact on the professional and personal lives of my colleagues at UNC. Thank you for this opportunity.
