Candidate Statement

Having been both an undergraduate and a graduate student at Carolina as well as a faculty member for 20 years, I am honored to be nominated for consideration for this committee. While I spend the bulk of my time in the School of Medicine, I very much value opportunities to contribute to the University as a whole. During my time on the faculty, I have had the pleasure of serving on the Administrative Board of the Library, Faculty Council, Faculty Nominating Committee, University Teaching Awards Committee, and Health Sciences Advisory Committee for Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure. While I would bring a health sciences perspective to the Faculty Hearings Committee, I would also bring experiences from main campus committees and my own student experiences.
