UNC Service

During approximately half of my academic career at UNC, I have deeply valued and appreciated the career development opportunities extended to me. In return, I actively contribute to supporting curriculum enhancement, faculty governance, and student development through various avenues of service. Currently, I hold positions on several committees, including the Chancellor’s Salary Equity Committee, the Center for Faculty Advisory Board, the PreHealth Professions Advisory Committee, the Classroom Policy Steering Committee, the University Fixed-Term Faculty Committee, and selected committees within the School of Education (SOE).

Candidate Statement

I had the privilege of serving a first term as the faculty council representative for the School of Education, and it was an honor to keep the school informed about campus-wide issues. If granted a second term, my goal is to amplify the faculty's voice and advocate for both fixed-term and tenure-track faculty members. Currently, I actively participate in Fixed-Term Committee meetings and have contributed to the agenda and nominations committees, where I've championed increased SOE faculty involvement and nominations for university-level committees.

While there are challenges (faculty well-being, burnout, AI, free speech) to address, there are also opportunities to promote faculty governance, wellness, AI, and academic achievement. I aim to be a strong advocate for faculty success and contribute positively to our academic community.
