UNC Service

I joined the UNC Biology faculty in 2015 as a Teaching Assistant Professor. From 2016-2023 I served as a member of the Administrative Boards of the General College and College of Arts and Sciences, where we provided input on various curricular efforts within the College. Since 2022, I have also served as the Director of the Graduate Certificate for College Science Teaching program administered through the UNC Office of Graduate Education. For the past year, I have also served as a member of the Study Abroad Advisory Board.

Candidate Statement

The work we do at Carolina thrives on thoughtful communication, taking in the viewpoints of many distinct perspectives on our shared educational mission. I am eager to serve as a member of the Advisory committee on behalf of fixed term faculty. I bring relevant experience to the role: nearly 10 years in large-enrollment classrooms; curriculum evaluation experience as both a member of the CAS Administrative Board and collaboratively designing a modernized curriculum for the largest major on campus; continued collaborative work across campus with graduate education and study abroad efforts.
