Candidate Statement

My name is Cassandra Davis and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Policy. I am excited about the opportunity to serve and join the Faculty Athletics Committee here at UNC-Chapel Hill. I was a successful student-athlete, participating in Track & Field at a nearby university in the ACC. As a former student-athlete, I know firsthand what it means to juggle academics while competing. In addition to managing your schoolwork, I trained, traveled to meets, and competed against talented athletes nationwide. I’ve learned many valuable lessons that I still use as a faculty member.
As a member of the faculty Athletic Committee, I would use my past experiences to ensure that our student-athletes’ needs are highlighted and supported. I am also thrilled to work with other faculty connected to such an important topic.
