UNC Service
I care for patients with rare genetic, metabolic and mitochondrial disorders throughout the state. I have extensive teaching in the genetics curriculum to medical students, residents, specialty fellows, nurses and physician assistants. I have served on the Faculty Council since 2014. I am also Chair of the UNC Faculty Welfare committee. I have also served as member and Chair of the UNC SOM Fixed-term APT committee for 6 years. I have been a member of the Faculty Council Agenda Committee for the past year.
Candidate Statement
1. Continue the tradition of excellence while maintaining access and affordability at UNC
2. Resist pressures to corporatize higher education and restrict academic freedom
3. Improve diversity (including salary equity) and faculty retention
4. Improve fixed term faculty employment and promotion practices
