Candidate Statement

Over my past 7 years at UNC, I have established a presence in the Dept of Nutrition and a national reputation in my program of research aimed at understanding neuropsychological drivers of eating behavior. I have taken full advantage of my position to actively engage in department & school-level service with the unwavering goal of improving the UNC experience of students, staff, & faculty alike. As a faculty member that successfully navigated the recently challenging the academic career path, I am uniquely situated to bring a novel perspective to ensure that UNC’s top-notch faculty will continue to flourish. I am committed to transparency & fairness in all UNC processes. Critical, solution-oriented feedback is needed to drive visionary policies that will address the many challenges we face and advance UNC’s scholastic & research goals.
