UNC Service

I serve as the Division Chief of Child Neurology and Tenured Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Epilepsy with special focus on mentorship and research. I also run an NIH and Department of Defence funded laboratory evaluating resting state functional MRI primarily for children and adults with epilepsy or acute brain injury. My partner collaborators are from Johns Hopkins University, Arizona State University, and Baylor College of Medicine. My clinical focus is in the intensive care unit for children and neonates as a consultant for neurocritical care.

Candidate Statement

My intention as a member of the UNC Grievance Committee is to increase attention to the voices of our faculty and staff members who feel that they have not been well heard by our organization. To ensure we are conducting ourselves fairly and with equipoise. To know that I am doing my best to make our community one in which we can feel welcome, safe, and heard in a respectful manner. To bring some degree of peace to ourselves.
