Candidate Statement
Statement of Interest: As a former college athlete (Division III basketball), I recognize how difficult it can be for the student athletes here at UNC to balance all the demands on their time as well as excel in the classroom. I hope to be an advocate for their academic pursuits and a reliable liason between UNC Athletics and the Faculty Council.
Previous Experience: As a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin, I worked with the Associate Athletic Director Arthur Johnson (now AD at Temple U) and basketball coach Shaka Smart (now coach at Marquette U) to mentor athletes who were interested in majoring/minoring in business topics.
