UNC Service
I serve as a pediatric urologist and Assistant Professor of Urology at the UNC School of Medicine. In addition to being an active clinician, I am engaged at multiple levels in medical education, from the pre-clinical curricula to clinical and operative skills. I Co-Chaired the Quality & Safety Committee of the GME Clinical Learning Environment Review, developing recommendations to revamp how we teach quality & safety. I served system-wide as a Virtual Care Champion in the UNC Virtual Care Center, driving adoption of telemedicine. Currently I am Co-Director of Quality & Safety within my department and serve on the Patient Safety Subcommittee.
Candidate Statement
I am excited and humbled at the opportunity to represent my colleagues on the Faculty Council. Throughout my time at UNC I have held multiple roles serving our community, but the Faculty Council brings responsibilities to serve through a different lens: broadly considering what Carolina is and represents– a world class public institution whose commitment to education, research & service is unparalleled. It would be a privilege to represent our community by 1) fostering work & learning environments that promote equity & inclusion; 2) promoting well-being by nurturing appreciation & gratitude practices; 3) advancing efficiency by reducing administrative burdens; 4) cultivating just culture through listening and feedback. It has been an honor to be at Carolina, and I am eager to serve our broader community as a member of the Faculty Council.
