I have served as the Chancellor's Special Assistant on Diversity, as both the interim and actual Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion and the CDO for UNC-Chapel Hill, a member of The Chancellor's Cabinet, Chair of the Faculty Governance's Community and Diversity Committee, launched and led the Faculty Council's infamous diversity syllabus sessions, served on the Faculty Statue Advisory Committee. I was the Director of Multicultural Affairs for UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing for 12 years, Diversity Consultant to the Gilling's School of Public Health and The Adam's School of Dentistry, serving faculty, staff, and students.
I am a nurse, a faculty member, a clinical professor, a university administrator, a university cabinet member, provided learning initiatives, been involved as a collaborator and consultant on grants, stewarded many efforts that promote belonging, inclusivity and the appreciation of multiple perspectives on this campus and nationally. I have first hand lived experience and knowledge of the university and the many issues faced over the past 17 years. Prior to my arrival at UNC, I have held positions in the corporate space in public policy and advocacy and most recently completed being the national president of the oldest nursing professional organization in the country, the National League for Nursing which represents over 4,000 nurse-educators and 1200 schools of nursing. If elected, I will continue to boldly bear witness to truth.
