Candidate Statement

I am a nurse, a faculty member, a clinical professor, a university administrator, a university cabinet member, provided learning initiatives, been involved as a collaborator and consultant on grants, stewarded many efforts that promote belonging, inclusivity and the appreciation of multiple perspectives on this campus and nationally. I have first hand lived experience and knowledge of the university and the many issues faced over the past 17 years. Prior to my arrival at UNC, I have held positions in the corporate space in public policy and advocacy and most recently completed being the national president of the oldest nursing professional organization in the country, the National League for Nursing which represents over 4,000 nurse-educators and 1200 schools of nursing. If elected, I will continue to boldly bear witness to truth.
