Candidate Statement

If elected to the Faculty Athletics Committee, my goal is to ensure that the academic and broader university experience for student athletes supports their personal and academic growth. I am particularly interested in helping ensure student athletes have access to appropriate mental health support and that they receive the appropriate support beyond athletics to realize their professional goals. I am committed to helping create an environment that fosters open communication and dialogue between faculty, administrators, coaches, and student athletes to maintain and build on the success of our athletic program.

As a faculty member, in the School of Social Work, I have had the privilege to teach and advise students for over 16 years. My experiences will serve the committee well as I seek to advocate for the well-being of student athletes.
