From the University Librarian

Dear faculty and graduate student colleagues:

As the campus prepares to resume in-person instruction and research activity, the University Libraries is developing service models that support the Carolina Together Roadmap.

Please take a few minutes to complete the brief survey at http://go.unc.edu/LibReopeningSurvey. Your answers will help inform our ongoing planning process. The survey will remain open until 5 p.m. on July 2, 2020.

Our initial focus for reopening will be a “digital first” strategy. The University Libraries will increase our capacity to offer access to digital books and articles. We will also expand the digitization of materials from library collections for both research and teaching. Alongside these efforts, we are preparing to initiate a curbside delivery program so that you can easily request and pick up books and other library materials.

As we prepare for re-entry, protecting your safety and well-being, and that of students and of University Libraries personnel, is our top priority.

If you have questions about the survey or the services described in this survey, we invite you to contact us at libraryreopening@unc.edu.

Sincerely,
Elaine L. Westbrooks
Vice Provost for University Libraries and University Librarian
