All members of the voting faculty should have received an email with their individualized link to the 2019 Faculty Governance Interest Survey. The survey is open until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019.

In the lead up to faculty elections, the Office of Faculty Governance surveys faculty to learn about their interest in serving the university on the Faculty Council and on standing committees, both elected and appointed.

The results are shared with the Faculty Nominating Committee, which is tasked with creating a slate of candidates for the 2019 faculty elections and with making recommendations for appointed committees. Indicating interest does not obligate anyone to serve, nor does it guarantee membership. This office contacts faculty members directly before putting their names on a ballot or recommending them for an appointed position.

Faculty elections will take place in March. All members of the voting faculty will receive a voting ballot via email. Membership to the Faculty Council and to elected committees will be announced via email and at the April 12 Faculty Council meeting. Membership to appointed committees will be announced in the summer. All offices begin three-year terms on July 1, 2019.

As the university continues to navigate present and future challenges, faculty engagement and leadership continue to be critical. Participating in faculty governance is one way to make your voice heard; we hope you will consider serving.
